Zooming your Group Meetings

As Zoom has provided the Forum with a very effective way of keeping in touch with our members, we have decided to make our annual Zoom sub-scription available for Forum members to host their own Zoom meetings or talks. In order to bring this about, we have devised a free booking system, details of which are below:

Booking a Zoom on CDFHH Account

If you would like to set up a Zoom meeting for your group: Email yb2u15@gmail.com stating:

  1. Name of group
  2. Email address of contact person
  3. Date, time and duration of required meeting or talk, allowing 15 minutes time for arrival of attendees (ie 7.15pm for a 7.30 start)
  4. Required title for talk or meeting

  • All meetings to be set up with a waiting room, and attendees muted on entry.
  • Contact person required to be present 15 minutes before the start of the zoom.
  • Yb2u will then negotiate time and date if necessary and then put the booking into the diary. To make it fair, book each meeting separately. We will not accept block bookings.
  • One invitation to each zoom will be sent out one week before the talk/meeting date so that the contact person can send it to group members.
  • On the zoom date, yb2u will use our CDFHH account and password to launch the meeting and leave as soon as the contact person has signed in 15 minutes before the start of the meeting.
  • CDFHH accept no responsibility for content or opinions of meetings set up for group members.

We chose to use Zoom because it is easier to use than some other similar programs. If you are not familiar with it, just email yb2u15@gmail.com and we will send a set of instructions and set up a trial run if necessary.
