My name is Vera Hodgson I was born in 1924 at Wheatley Hill.

I married William Hodgson in 1945. I have 1 daughter and 2 grandchildren and 3 great grand children.

I joined the Mothers Club in 1949 I am one of the founder members. When we first started there were about 12 of us. We played Whist and dominoes darts witch we still play today 2001.

We started in the Scouts Hut then later moved to The Welfare hall. As we grew larger we moved to the Working Men's Club. I have seen lots of changers over the last 52 years and I still like my Wednesday night out at the Mothers Club.
