BABY MASSAGE

Baby Massage is one of the courses provided by Children's Centres across Derwentside.  This course is being offered to registered families within the Children's Centres and venues within the local community.

Baby Massage can help with bonding between parent and child.  It differs from ordinary massage in that it consists only of gentle stroking and touching.

The classes, taught by members of the Family Support Team, provide parents with the opportunity to learn techniques which can benefit both parent and child by aiding sleep and relaxation.  It can also help relieve colic, wind and constipation and most babies love the skin-to-skin contact.
