Pre – School room 3-5 years
General Layout
The room provides a large open space for activity play as
well as smaller zones for maths, writing, role-play and
malleable activities. This room is used for mare
educational purposes, which require more concentration.
The computer is available from morning till night and can
be accessed at any time.
Independence
We believe that independence should be encouraged from day
1. The children have access to their own toilets and hand
washing facilities and independence in personal hygiene is
encouraged throughout. Coat pegs, tables and chairs are
all at child level as well as all resources used
throughout the day.
Learning Goals
Activities for this age are varied, providing ample
learning opportunities. We follow term topics and are
working towards the ‘Quality Counts’ standards of
practice. Concise records are kept of all children and
feedback is given regularly to parents.
We aim to give the children the best possible start to
school by providing a varied range of activities and good
staff ratios
Outdoor Play
Children
enjoy outdoor play and we encourage this throughout the
day. Opportunities for outdoor play are given at least 3
times per day. Our outdoor area provides a covered
safety surface, a grass area and also a paved area. Toys
are widely available and are regularly checked for
defects. Indoor activities are also often brought
outdoors to enhance an all round education
