Welcome to the 18-30 Room

18-30 (months)

The 18-30 room offers a spacious, bold, bright and colourful area for children to play and learn. Children’s work is displayed throughout the room and is regularly changed. The room can be sectioned off to enable the children to appreciate and learn all aspects of play.

Book area

This area is used for reading resting and quiet times.

Messy Area

This area is used for gluing, painting and malleable activities.

Floor space

This area is used for large and small construction, floor puzzles and games.

Various tables

These consist of a writing table where the children can practice their writing skills. A maths table where they can play matching, counting and number games and a small world table where the children can play with small animals, dolls houses and small construction toys

At The sunshine Day Nursery we follow the National Curriculum guidelines and use this throughout the planning and daily routines. It is our aim to reach the 6 areas of development.

          * Language, Literacy and communication skills.

                * Personal and social development

                *  Mathematical development

                 * Knowledge and understanding of the world

                 * Physical development

                  * Creative play

Group times

Group time is set 3 times throughout the day and all children are invited to participate. During this time stories are read, songs and rhymes are sung and name recognition is practiced. We also encourage the children to talk and listen to others.

Meal and snack times

A routine is followed throughout the day. Breakfast, lunch and tea are served at the same time each day. Snacks are also served at regular intervals throughout the day. We cater for all dietary requirements.

Overall the 18-30 room aims to provide a high quality and caring environment in which children feel safe, happy and secure.
