Below are some comments that have been made by Dads attending our group:

I have been attending the dads group for nearly a year and really enjoy doing some of the activities that mam’s get the chance to do in groups during the week. Me and my children look forward to our group once a month for the quality time and chance to do activities we don’t always have time to do at home. I enjoy the group and made many friends just like my children have.

Wet ’n’ Muddy at Diggerland

It was raining, not a happy start to the day for dads, but it meant there were muddy puddles for my child (a Pepper Pig fan). She was looking for Bob (the builder), but was happy with Scoop, Mucky and very Dizzy.

The dumper trucks were very bumpy and bounced so much her wellies fell off, then onto the lift, up, up and up into the drizzle to have a look around. Once we were back onto wet land, its off to spin, getting dizzy, going round and round, up and down.

Then what I was waiting for, the toys for dads – playing in a digger, knocking down skittles, hooking the duck, looking for the object and digging a hole – and the kids helped too. My favourite was the robots going round on the spot, pulling wheelies and bouncing over the bumps GREAT FUN!

The only downsides were:

1)     NO place to eat our packed lunches except outside in the rain.

2)     The entrance fees were a bit steep (if not for Sure Start), to go on our own it will cost £30+ for 2 adults and 1 child, and of course she wants to go back again.
