Aims of the Service

To offer support to pregnant women who wish to give up smoking during their pregnancy. It involves a twelve week programme of support from the above health professionals in conjunction with Nicotine Replacement therapy. The service is also extended to partners and family

Benefits of the Service:

	All health benefits associated with non smoking
	Reduction in risk of miscarriage
	Reduction in the risk of low birth weight baby
	Reduction in the risk of pre term labour
	Reduction in the risk of cot death
	Reduces the risk of baby developing respiratory problems e.g. asthma
	Other benefits include reduction in the risk of developing cancer, or having a heart attack
