My name is Valerie Walker I joined the Mothers Club in 1992. I am 58 years old. I was born in Shotton Colliery to James and Stella Forster.

I was married to Barrie walker in 1965; I have three children, two boys and one girl. My daughter is married with two boys and is expecting another in July.

I am a proud grandmother, and I am hoping for a grand daughter. My eldest son is engaged and the youngest is still single and they have all left home.

Sadly my husband died in 1996, and the mothers club has been a great comfort and support and has helped me get on with my life and enjoy life again. Since I joined the Mothers Club I have had some very memorable times over the years.

To celebrate our 50th Anniversary year we visited many places and venues. We have become very efficient over the past two years at fund raising and are well known in the village for giving a helping hand to a good cause.
