My name is Olive Huntington I was born to Sally and Thomas Hackworth, in 9 Robson Street Wheatley Hill on June 6th 1928.

I was one of 3 daughters and 5 sons.

My dad was a miner at Wheatley Hill Colliery and he was killed down the pit at 38 years old. Mam raised us all on her own.

I married Jack in 1949 and had 2 sons. I lived in the prefabs, which was very nice and then went to live on the new estate we have lived there 36 years.

I have been a member of the Mothers Club for about 30 years. I worked at the Co-op for 23 Years, which I though rally, enjoyed.
