My name is Eleanor I was born at 12 South Street Thornley in 1945 to Mabel and Billy Gutteridge. We then moved to Wheatley Hill in 1946.I have one sister Valerie.
I married Ernie Halliwell in 1968 we had 3 sons Ian, Jason, and Colin.
I joined the Mothers Club in 1970.
When Jason was born in 1971 he was the first Mothers Club baby to receive a 50 pence piece.

I helped run the Play Group the mothers and toddlers and disable club. I also helped the W.R.V.S. Luncheon Club. I was thankful that I was in the Mothers Club when I lost my husband in 1986 as my many friends helped me through some bad times.
I attend All Saints Parish Church and I am a member of the P.C.C.
I am also a member of the Parish Council
I work part time in the Flower and gift Box along with my best friend Barbara.
My earliest Memory is looking in the Tin Shop window with my mam to buy sweets for the pictures.
Along with my friends Barbara, Diane, Marion and Rita we make up the Scrubber's Club
