TRAVEL AND HOLIDAYS A plastic soap container is ideal for an emergency kit on holiday. You can store Elastoplasts, gauge, cotton wool, small tube of germolene, small scissors, safety pins, needle and thread, a strip of paracetamol and two diocalm tablets. A film container packed with cotton wool and soaked with nail varnish remover will last a week on holiday. A week's supply of denture tablets can also be stored in a film container. If you're flying away to the sun, keep a change of underwear, wet wipes, roll-on deodorant, toothbrush and paste in your hand luggage so you can freshen up before leaving the plane. Put your swimsuit in, too, then you can hit the beach even if your luggage goes astray! An old spectacle case makes a useful container for a sewing kit when travelling. If travelling with a friend or partner, divide your clothes between the cases so if one case goes missing you have both still got something to wear. Use baby trainer beakers for drinks when travelling in the car, to avoid spillage. Carry a disposable camera in the car. It may come in useful in case of an accident to photograph position of cars etc. You might also want to photograph a stunning view. Before going on holiday soak a piece of foam with water in the bottom of your sink and arrange all your house plants on top it will keep your plants moist. When packing for holidays place an address label inside your bags as well as one the outside in case the outside one becomes detached. Carry emergency money in a small bag pinned inside your bra. The bags for soap powder tablets are ideal.
